Colombian-born, bilingual bombshell Hasblady Guzman approaches life with a passionate abandon all too rare in today’s often listless and blasé world.

Owner of two of Southern California’s top “green” hair salons – with plans for her third officially and enthusiastically underway – Hasblady’s diverse and venturesome upbringing provides an array of experience to draw from when working with and styling such Hollywood celebrities as Gerard Butler (“300”), Ana Ortiz (“Ugly Betty”), Monique Coleman (“High School Musical”), Eva LaRue ("CSI: Miami"), Kate Flannery (“The Office”), Daveigh Chase ("Big Love"), Jason Dohring ("Veronica Mars"), Andy Dick (“The Andy Dick Show”) and Paris Hilton (“The Simple Life”), who affectionately dubbed Hasblady "The Make-up Fairy."

Raised in the politically turbulent atmosphere of Bogotá, Colombia, it wasn’t long before Hasblady’s mother made the pragmatic and life-changing decision to relocate her children to the United States in hopes of fostering their futures and realizing the American Dream.

By the age of 15 Hasblady was working in one of her mother’s three American salons – and by 16 was officially “behind the chair.” This, however, was not part of Hasblady’s dream; hers was to open her very own salon. And so the young and eager entrepreneur quickly put her nose to the grindstone and began stashing away her cash.

When Hasblady eventually assembled enough capital to make an official offer on what she considered the perfect space for her new endeavor, the 21-year-old was denied the lease on the grounds that she was “too young.” Undiscouraged, and intent on achieving her objective, Hasblady pressed on.

In 1991 Hasblady’s persistence paid off when she acquired the space for and launched her first aptly named LA-based salon, Reniassance (which she has successfully run since), followed by her second, Pasadena’s Bokaos.

Hasblady is passionate about making women beautiful from head to toe, literally. With a gentle and confident approach, Hasblady consistently succeeds in effortlessly gaining her clients’ admiration and trust.

Although she has many talents in the field of beauty, Hasblady’s forte is hair – it’s what she loves. Hasblady prides herself in her ability to accurately interpret her client’s vision and quickly bring it into breathtaking being.

But more than anything, Hasblady wants to help. As a single mother of two young boys it is particularly important to her that she assist fellow mothers achieve a better quality of life. Hasblady specializes in “green” hair care and is passionate about caring for the environment as well as future generations to come. Hasblady frequently participates in such activities as beach cleanups and fundraisers for non-profit foundations. “If I didn’t love shoes and purses so much, I would have been a missionary,” says Hasblady. “Doing missionary work in Africa, that’s my retirement. When my boys are grown, I plan to travel into impoverished areas and teach women how to cut hair so they can buy groceries and pay the rent and put shoes on their little ones.”

Hasblady takes tremendous pride in being a mother, business owner and philanthropist, all while staying true to her first and foremost love – hair.
